The complete theoretical and methodological foundation behind ECO
This document gathers PsycheAI's scientific foundation in depth — for anyone who wants to understand the theory, the methodology and the research architecture beyond the summary presented at /eco.
Fundamentals
What does "computational representation" mean?
In PsycheAI's context, computational representation means transforming observable data from human discourse into organized structures that a computational system can process, store, relate and analyze objectively.
This representation does not correspond to a clinical interpretation nor to the reproduction of the individual's subjective experience. It constitutes a computational organization of the data obtained from discourse, preserving criteria of traceability, reproducibility and auditability.
The goal is not to explain the subject, but to build an organized structure that allows systematic observation of human discourse and produces evidence open to scientific investigation.
Methodology
Observable patterns
In PsycheAI, observable patterns are the structures that emerge from discourse and can be objectively identified over time. These patterns may appear as repetitions, recurrences, topic shifts, associations, pauses, interruptions, variations in speech organization, or other characteristics open to computational recording.
The project's hypothesis is not that these patterns automatically reveal a clinical meaning, but that they can be identified, computationally represented and analyzed in a way that is observable, traceable, reproducible and auditable.
Scientific architecture
Two complementary scientific foundations
PsycheAI's development came to rest on two major scientific foundations, each answering a distinct question.
Psychoanalytic Library
Built from the works of Freud, Lacan and the fundamental references for the development of psychoanalysis. Its function is to guide how observed data should be organized into representations consistent with the theoretical framework that sustains the project.
How can this data be organized into a representation grounded in the theory?
Computational Library
Currently expanding, it gathers the scientific foundations needed for the platform's technological implementation: computational language processing, acoustic speech analysis, artificial intelligence, cognitive architectures, traceability, reproducibility, research ethics and data protection.
How can the data be extracted, qualified and computationally validated?
This separation has become a permanent principle of PsycheAI's scientific architecture.
How the platform is organized
Platform Architecture
PsycheAI is organized into two complementary environments, which share exactly the same scientific architecture and use the same computational observation engines.
ECO
The interface aimed at the subject. Based on free association and sustained by a non-interpretive stance, its function is to favor the production of discourse, never taking the analyst's place.
Laboratório
The platform's scientific environment, dedicated to the development, validation and computational observation of discourse. In this first phase of the project, its access remains restricted and research-focused.
