ECO sustains the space of free association — psychoanalysis's classic technique — without interpreting and without steering the conversation. Its function is to observe how speech organizes itself over time: what repeats, where pauses appear, when a theme returns. This feeds a scientific research effort and, in the future, a tool that analysts will be able to use with their own patients.

The originating question
In recent months, PsycheAI moved beyond being just an artificial-intelligence idea to become a research platform dedicated to the computational observation of discourse.
The project starts from a question that has followed the history of psychology since the late 19th century:
Is it possible to computationally represent observable patterns of human discourse?
This question finds its origin in Project for a Scientific Psychology, by Sigmund Freud, and takes on a new dimension in the structural formalization of discourse developed by Jacques Lacan.
Direct questions
That's a fair question. Computationally formalizing psychoanalytic concepts — especially Lacanian ones — is a real debate, and some consider this attempt incompatible with science's reproducibility criteria. PsycheAI does not claim to prove Lacan or turn psychoanalysis into an algorithm. The hypothesis is far more modest: to test whether it's possible to computationally represent observable patterns of discourse — without validating or invalidating psychoanalytic theory itself.
Today, every collection already requires acceptance of an Informed Consent Form (TCLE) and the Privacy Policy before it happens. But the complete security infrastructure — protected storage, access control, auditing — is exactly one of the fronts this campaign funds: the R$8,000 earmarked for "security and data protection" in the use-of-funds list exists for that. In other words, the funding isn't just to advance the research — it's to make sure it advances with your data protected.

Who's behind it
Bachelor's degree in Psychology (INESP/UEMG, 2005–2011), with clinical experience as a self-employed psychologist in Brazil and a recent trajectory in software development and applied AI — the combination behind the bridge between the psychoanalytic foundation and the computational implementation of PsycheAI.
Ethical status of the project: this is a technical-pilot phase, with close collaborators, not a formally approved research study. Submission to an Ethics Committee (CEP/CONEP) has not yet begun, and the project is actively seeking a formal academic partnership.

This is the question that guides all of PsycheAI's development and that will continue to drive the next stages of the research.

With the scientific foundation and the computational architecture of PsycheAI complete, the project begins its experimental-validation phase.
This stage will seek to verify whether the models developed are capable of consistently, traceably, reproducibly and auditably representing observable patterns of human discourse.
